Paradise Arcade Blue Elf Adapter
The Paradise Arcade Blue Elf Adapter allows you to plug in your Blue Elf board into a standard JAMMA cabinet without modifying your wiring. The Paradise Arcade Blue Elf adapter does this by re-routing some of the JAMMA wiring that is not compatible with the Blue Elf board so that your installation is plug and play.
If your game board matches the pinout on the second page this adapter will work for your board as well.
Wiring
A standard JAMMA cabinet uses pins 27 and e as ground, but the Blue Elf uses pins 27 and e for button 6. This is an issue for the Blue Elf boards because if you plug in the Blue Elf to a JAMMA cabinet that has grounds going to pin 27 and e it will receive constant input from the P1 and P2 button 6 because they are grounded.
Most JAMMA harnesses are only wired for three buttons. This adapter adds the ability for you to add the additional buttons 4, 5 and 6 that some games require through the kick harness.
Note: If your wiring harness already has wiring for 6 buttons you do not need to use the kick harness. The kick harness is intended for those wiring harness that do not have wiring for buttons 4, 5 and 6.
Video
The RGB connection (X1) allows you to feed video from the Blue Elf directly to the monitor. This option is normally not needed, but is available in the event that your monitor wiring is not compatible with the Blue Elf output.
Note: The video connector has a 5 pin connector that may or may not be compatible with your monitors video input connection. It is likely that it will need to be replaced or adapted to your monitors video input connector.
Power
Some JAMMA systems do not provide the correct cabinet power that the Blue Elf requires. The adapter allows you to power the board through the 4 pin Molex connector.
Note: Do not provide cabinet power and power to the 4 pin Molex connector at the same time. You will damage your board.
